I'm getting error 800CCC0F
when trying to retrieve my e-mail. The same messages keep coming again and
again.
- Some versions of Outlook are known to have this problem
when you are receiving several (more than 3) e-mail accounts from the same
server simultaneously. If you have multiple accounts defined in your
profile, consider grouping them and only retrieving one group at a time.
- Some antivirus software will hang if there is a
"corrupt" message, such as all headers with no body, in your mailbox.
Turning off the e-mail virus scanning should solve this. As long as you
still have file system protection turned on, any viruses that do make it to
your inbox will be dealt with if they ever try to open. In addition, every
incoming message goes through several levels of virus detection on our
system before it ever gets delivered to your inbox.
I can receive mail but can't send.
- If you are using the pc|mac e-mail server for
outgoing mail, you must enable SMTP Authentication in your e-mail client
software.
I keep getting a "server is busy" error message.
- POP3 servers only allow one connection at a time to each mailbox. If you
left Outlook running on another computer, or you are logged on to webmail
and try to use Outlook, you might see this error. Make sure nothing else is
trying to access your mailbox, then try again. You might need to wait up to
10 minutes for an improperly disconnected session to close.
I deleted some messages in webmail, next time I login they are still
there.
- Most likely you are closing the browser window when you are finished
with webmail. You must use the Logoff button on the left side menu to properly close the
session, as deletions and mailbox cleanup are done when the session
is properly closed. If you close the window without logging off, the
deletion never happens.
